Mission Statement

Zoe Williams

I started my career at 14 years old working a 'Pitstops' Barber shop as a Saturday girl. I soon realised that hairdressing was the way forward for me so secured an apprenticeship at one of the largest local salons - Bobs Hair Co in Abbeygate.

I literally lived and breathed hairdressing during my training, always the first to volunteer to work at fashion shows and help with photo shoots. I soon had work published in 'Hairdressers Journal' and Hair Now' in 1996 - quite an achievement at just 20 years old. I was also the first person to come straight out of my indenture and be promoted to Senior Stylist.

My next ambition was to work for Toni & Guy in a large city, so moved to Manchester in 1997 to begin work as a Technician. I loved every minute of working in Manchester. The work was exciting and I embraced the fashion and fast pace - it was exhilarating!

I returned to Grimsby in 2000 but commuted to the Hull Toni & Guy salon for a year. It was during this period I felt that I would like to work for myself and create a cutting edge salon of my own. A place to combine high end fashion with a warm, welcome and comfortable environment. Having given birth to my 3 daughters between 2001 and 2006 these plans took a backseat, although I was constantly coveting ideas and looking for the perfect premises.

In September 2008 my plans came to fruition with the launch of my salon, Zoo Hair Studio.
